<h2 style="text-align: center;">
Play Kitchen from Entertainment Center</h2>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here is the entertainment center before and after. As you can see in the pic my dd had already started putting things in there from me telling her to clean her room. Do the rest of you have the problem of kids putting things anywhere so it appears their room is clean?? lol</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vUdrWVPi9Ng/UfMDToHXG-I/AAAAAAAACwo/VHr4yj3hpW4/s1600/kitchen+before+and+after.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="160" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vUdrWVPi9Ng/UfMDToHXG-I/AAAAAAAACwo/VHr4yj3hpW4/s320/kitchen+before+and+after.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I saw a post on a play kitchen like this on Pinterest and knew I had to make one for my dd. I also decided to try out several products as well as making my own chalk paint for this. </div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WG3kl3hCm48/UfMoGOdeP7I/AAAAAAAACxI/izugKAKAXvM/s1600/Kitchen+Before.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WG3kl3hCm48/UfMoGOdeP7I/AAAAAAAACxI/izugKAKAXvM/s200/Kitchen+Before.jpg" width="200" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="font-size: 13px; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small; text-align: left;">The laminate had some damage on the top. </span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aWeU2AY2M1M/UfMoRdLKLfI/AAAAAAAACxQ/8J9gIDHvidc/s1600/Kitchen+Before+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aWeU2AY2M1M/UfMoRdLKLfI/AAAAAAAACxQ/8J9gIDHvidc/s200/Kitchen+Before+(2).jpg" width="200" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="font-size: 13px; text-align: center;">So I removed that first.<br />
Look for my post on the desk for<br />
an easy way to do this.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then painted it with the paint I had bought for other projects for this room without adding anything to make it chalk paint. The paint was an all in one primer and paint so I had thought it would be ok. Yet, this is what happened after painting it with the all in one primer/paint. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lQqgOG5olJA/UfMM0ATuIrI/AAAAAAAACw4/mWOQmHHwQGo/s1600/phone+pics+5994.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lQqgOG5olJA/UfMM0ATuIrI/AAAAAAAACw4/mWOQmHHwQGo/s200/phone+pics+5994.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I purchased the primer that I had heard so much about on Pinterest primed it. Amazon has it for $13.99 with free shipping if you purchase $25 or you can get free 2 day shipping if you are a Prime Member (which I am) on some items.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=beyobeyo-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=B000H5VKBQ" style="height: 240px; width: 120px;"></iframe><br />
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
I decided to try the chalk paint this time, that I have been reading and hearing so much about, instead of going straight paint. I found several different recipes for chalk paint using several different things to make it with. Cindy with Cottage Instincts has a <i style="font-weight: bold;">VERY GOOD </i>post talking about all of the different chalk paints at <a href="http://cottageinstincts.blogspot.com/2013/05/my-honest-opinions-on-chalk-paint-and.html" target="_blank">::My Honest Opinions on Chalk Paint and Wax::</a> including the ones you buy as well as make. She also has a pic comparing each on a plywood board. Now she uses the second step to most tutorials on chalk paint by using wax. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
If you have read any of my other post and/or about me you will notice one thing is a constant, I am cheap. Not to the point of leaving out/off something that is needed, I will also pay more for a better product. Yet, if I can do the same thing with the same outcome for less I will. If you have priced Annie Sloan's or any other chalk paint it is very expensive. The wax is as well.</div>
<img alt="" border="0" cm="" e="" height="1" lt1="_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=beyobeyo-20&l=1&p&o=8&a=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=B000C02AO2" rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com="" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" width="1" /><br />
<br />
Instead of using wax I use Min Was Polyacrylic. Polyacrylic seals your piece.<br />
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C02AO2/ref=as_li_ss_il?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000C02AO2&linkCode=as2&tag=beyobeyo-20" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?_encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B000C02AO2&Format=_SL110_&ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=beyobeyo-20" /></a>I use several coats for items that are used a great deal like this as well as pieces<br />
I make to sell (BeYouBeYounique.com is under construction now!) Polyacrylic<br />
doesn't yellow, bubble, smell, it isn't temperamental like polyurethane, and it is for<br />
acrylic paint so you don't have the clean up and it dries fast! I am able to put a<br />
second coat on it in 30 minutes! I have used one half-pint on this, the buffet/china<br />
cabinet, desk, armoire, side table, coffee table, dresser, and headboard and I still<br />
have about a quarter of it left.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
**REMEMBER** If you are using an oil based paint you have to use Polyurethane!!<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made my chalk paint with unsanded grout. It is inexpensive, you can buy it in small amounts, and it is easy to work with. I mixed 2 tablespoons to a cup of paint. Most people say to add water, yet I like it thick. With it thick I am able to only do one coat. See below for the non sanded grout I used. Amazon has it for less than a dollar!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=beyobeyo-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=B00002NCJY" style="height: 240px; width: 120px;"></iframe><br />
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I liked painting with the chalk paint so much I have painted 3 other projects with it. I used a sponge brush on part of it and another part with my purdy brush and for the first time in my life could not tell a difference. It also only took me one coat to do the entire entertainment center! I did see brush marks when it was wet, yet as it drys you start seeing them disappear. By the time it was dry you could not see any with either brush. This made me a believer in using chalk paint. And making my own at that! Painting this I only used 4 tsp's of unsanded grout out of a pound, it goes a long way!! </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(see pictures of painting with the sponge brush vs. a purdy brush below)</div>

I painted the 'refrigerator' door with magnetic paint. I read everything I could find on this about the best way to use it and how to make it work. I found if I kept it mixed really well and put on 3 coats it works pretty well. Some magnets still will not stick to it but most will. Now how it magnetizes the paint is by having small pieces of metal in the paint, this leaves what you paint it on very bumpy. I used Rust-Oleum.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=beyobeyo-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B000C02AO2" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" width="1" /></div>

<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
The magnetic paint leaving a bumpy finish made me glad that the silver metalic paint that I inherited from the last people that lived her had gotten to the point I usually throw it away. It had some 'good' paint left in it but also had several clumps. I used a paint stirrer to put the "clumps" on and spread them evenly into the paint. I then sanded lightly, being careful not to remove the metal pieces.<br />

<div class="" style="clear: both;">
If you are not lucky enough <img src="http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp177/scrappinkym/Smiley%20Emoticons/snicker.gif" /> to have 'clumpy' paint you can use wall putty/spackle mixed 1:1 with water to thin it out. Spread it evenly over the area you want to smooth making sure to get it very thin just enough to bring the surface area up to the height of the metal. After it dries go over the area lightly with a wet cloth to get coating off of the metal pieces, then allow to dry again before applying paint. </div>
<img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=beyobeyo-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B003ZW7XL4" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" width="1" /><br />

<br />
<br />
I also used the magnetic paint on the side of the kitchen but did not smooth it out since I didn't feel that part would look bad from it. After the magnetic paint I added black chalk paint on top of that so she can draw on it as well as stick her 'orders' on this side.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I removed the hardware from the bottom right drawer and put in news paper and tape to protect the glass from getting paint on it, I only do this when I am not sure how difficult the paint will be to scrape off, because I was using the same silver metallic paint. Trying not to get the clumps this time <img src="http://greenbutterfly.us/images/emoticons/hehe.gif" />. I then frosted the inside of her door with Rust-Oleum frosted glass spray paint I had from another project, I wanted a square area about 2 inches in not painted so I taped that part of the window off first. I then found a stencil I liked, taped it onto the window in several places so it wouldn't move around while I was working, and scraped off the spray paint from the open areas with an exacto knife. I did not like the hardware that was on the door or that it was placed on the right, I wanted it on the top like an oven and for it to match. I had a different pull in black and spray painted it chrome. I then had to make holes for the new pull to fit. I used painters tape to mark where the holes are on the hardware then moved the tape to the door and drilled the holes out with my dremel. Not thinking about this before painting, I had to go back and fill the old hardware hole with putty and paint over that.<br />

To make the countertop I did a faux granite finish. This is very easy to do, just find 2 or 3 colors you like, thinning them some so they will not dry as quickly giving you time to work the paint and blend it in some areas. </div>

I looked everywhere to find the best things to use for the sink, faucet, and burners. I ended up using a stainless steal bowl, a real faucet that I found at the thrift, and furniture movers painted flat black for the burners. I found where I wanted to place each of them, put the bowl on it's spot upside down drawing a line as close as I could. I then used a jigsaw to cut it out just inside of my line after making a hole with a drill to start cutting. I did the same thing for the faucet pieces that go under the sink instead of removing them. And used E6000 to glue the burners down.</div>

I have missed you all!!! I knew it had felt like forever since I have talked you y'all, yet I see it has been about 6 weeks. Yes, that is a long time, but not as long as it felt!!! So what have I been up to... Well as I told y'all the last post, I now am a meme of 6, the twins (identical boys) were born May 28th. I had some other,unexpected, things come up and I have been working my hiney off getting a lot of my furniture finished as well as things around the house that needed to be fixed to sell. The one I loved the most was my china/buffet cabinet <br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
This picture really doesn't do it justice. I need to find a way to take better pictures in bad lighting. :~( which is all I have where I refinish/repurpose my furniture.</td></tr>

You need this!!!!<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
Do you open Pinterest or my blog <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-omlB2CNCb9E/UbQrubCheBI/AAAAAAAAAbI/rzuOKpW-YbI/s1600/embarrassed+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-omlB2CNCb9E/UbQrubCheBI/AAAAAAAAAbI/rzuOKpW-YbI/s1600/embarrassed+1.jpg" /></a> and end up having 0ne click led to another then another then another and... end up with <i style="text-decoration: line-through;">a lot</i><b><strike> </strike> </b> <strike style="font-style: italic;">a huge</strike>, I want to always be totally honest with you guys no matter how embarrassing, so we will say <b><i>an enormous</i> </b>amount of pages open? If you do, you need to know about <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tabs-outliner/eggkanocgddhmamlbiijnphhppkpkmkl" target="_blank">'Tabs Outliner'</a><i> </i>if you are not already using it! </div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/uZsNpx3PK40pnPCyT__js8LvAfKOaNv6Yo4ijUI5-0mroAXeMi7qe1S03mjd1XT92elZPQG-oXM=s640-h400-e365-rw" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/uZsNpx3PK40pnPCyT__js8LvAfKOaNv6Yo4ijUI5-0mroAXeMi7qe1S03mjd1XT92elZPQG-oXM=s640-h400-e365-rw" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<br />
I doubt you are as bad as I am with a million windows open, yet this can help anyone that has more than a three or four at a time.Now mine is not full of Amazon (well, not now anyway ) or YouTube but it is full! I use it this to save articles I want to read later, sites I don't want to forget, often used pages, etc. instead of having to go through my bookmarks, jump on Evernote, or some other program. Since it works through chrome you can use it even when you are not on your personal computer as long as you sign into you Google account. When you pull it up it will open on the left side of your screen, taking up about <span style="text-align: center;">about a fourth of the space. Using this </span>you can have as many or as few windows as you would like open or.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d9BFh5Ac-68/UbQVfiYhrUI/AAAAAAAAAY8/BVNVL7PEcfc/s1600/thinking-idea-animated-animation-smiley-emoticon-000339-facebook.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d9BFh5Ac-68/UbQVfiYhrUI/AAAAAAAAAY8/BVNVL7PEcfc/s1600/thinking-idea-animated-animation-smiley-emoticon-000339-facebook.gif" /></a></div>
I guess you would say <i>on hold?</i>?? You can even close a saved window from the<a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tabs-outliner/eggkanocgddhmamlbiijnphhppkpkmkl" target="_blank">'Tabs Outliner'</a>. It also saves your windows if your browser crashes, battery dies, or you turn off you computer forgetting about something you wanted to look at <span style="text-align: center;"> </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/happy/jumping-for-joy-smiley-emoticon.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/happy/jumping-for-joy-smiley-emoticon.gif" /></a></div>
It is a <strike>wonderful</strike> <strike>fantastic</strike> <strike>amazing</strike> <b>amazingly fantastical wonderful</b> extension!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
So instead of feeling like this <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aQzMqABrLqM/UbQemLIZumI/AAAAAAAAAa0/QwWketSSvJY/s1600/Laptop_Woman-with-Hammer_cropped.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aQzMqABrLqM/UbQemLIZumI/AAAAAAAAAa0/QwWketSSvJY/s200/Laptop_Woman-with-Hammer_cropped.jpg" width="174" /></a> , grab the <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tabs-outliner/eggkanocgddhmamlbiijnphhppkpkmkl" style="text-align: left;" target="_blank">'Tabs Outliner'</a> and feel like this </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YagATBeic-Q/UbQeZSK7y9I/AAAAAAAAAaE/ZQXWHVS3Bf4/s1600/Happy_Customer_with_Laptop_repaired.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YagATBeic-Q/UbQeZSK7y9I/AAAAAAAAAaE/ZQXWHVS3Bf4/s320/Happy_Customer_with_Laptop_repaired.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
Just incase you didn't notice and you are looking at this wondering why I did not put a link or the vary least give you a website address, I did. I just forgot to mention that any place you see <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tabs-outliner/eggkanocgddhmamlbiijnphhppkpkmkl" target="_blank">'Tabs Outliner'</a> is a link to get more information and install it.<br />
<br />
I am not associated with nor being paid to write about <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tabs-outliner/eggkanocgddhmamlbiijnphhppkpkmkl" target="_blank">'Tabs Outliner'</a><i>. </i>This is simply to pass on helpful information to all of my wonderful readers, followers, and members <br />

Yes, I said sonssssss... Twins And a recipe for Citronella OilI am sorry after telling you all that I would add more to my porch post the next day that it has been several. That isn't a very good way to start is it??? I do believe I have a decent excuse though. The boys had to be taken by c-section at 34 weeks but all is well!!! :) They were 6 lbs 2 oz and 5 lbs 8 oz, pretty decent size for twins that was 6 weeks early. I would hate to have been my daughter if they they had of been full term!!!<br />
<br />
Well I have almost finished painting my swing, filled the pool, built a little porch by the pool for the kids to get in and out on (hoping to keep the grass down), weeded the front garden and added dirt and some plants, and.... ummm I know there was something else... oh yea, I put the color coat on top of the black on my glass cabinet in for the kitchen. This was done today so I am really tired, I hope to get pics and how to's posted tomorrow.<br />
<br />
<br />

Knowing I was going to be working in the yard a lot I researched all of the 'green', 'organic', inexpensive ways to not get bitten. And here is what I tried and how it worked:<br />
1.) Garlic: I had two large bunches of garlic (are the individual pieces of garlic called cloves or the whole bunch?) So I cut them up all around my deck yesterday. Today I went on top of it with a full thing of garlic powder. I still had one land on me around noon. I knew if they are landing on me already, I will be eaten alive by dusk!!! So onto the next thing... <br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<br />
2.) Dryer sheets: I used my Bounce dryer sheets. I rubbed them on all exposed skin as well as tucked one in each pocket for a total of four sheets. About an hour later I had 4 bites... Onto the next thing I have at home... <br />
3.) 'Dark' Vinegar: I am assuming the post I read this on was speaking of apple cider vinegar??? So I sprayed it around the whole area, being careful not to spray it on plants that I wanted to keep but spraying heavy on the weeds (I will let you know how this works in the next couple of days.) Still was bitten... <br />
4.) Vanilla: I dabbed it on my ankles, wrist, and clothing. Keep in mind I still have the garlic everywhere, bounce sheets in each pocket, and vinegar sprayed. The vanilla didn't help... <br />
5.) Oils: I didn't have the ones mentioned on the sites I read, I did have lavender (might have been on one???) Well other than adding a new scent to my person it didn't help any at all. <br />
That is all I had available to use out of the ideas I read. I think the garlic along with the dryer sheets helped some, other wise I would have been eaten to the point of miserable by the time it was dark, yet it did not rid me of them totally. Do any of you have any sure fire ways to get rid of the pesky little buggers???<br />

Yet, these are the times. Just look for the silver lining :) I was living in a place that I wanted out of before I ever moved in. While looking at a Do It Yourself magazine I saw my perfect deck. It was me and I knew I would have it one day...<a href="http://www.pdfmagazines.org/uploads/posts/2012-06/1341078290_1.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://www.pdfmagazines.org/uploads/posts/2012-06/1341078290_1.jpg" /></a> <br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
As soon as I started receiving enough money to move, I was calling every ad I could find that fit into where and how much I could afford. The first house I looked at, I knew it was THE ONE!!! After all it had the beginnings of my deck, and the most expensive parts!!! <br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0Br4vXiMRXE/UaGGEOhJpcI/AAAAAAAAATg/EWMVx645PAI/s1600/2013-05-25_16-31-48_260.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0Br4vXiMRXE/UaGGEOhJpcI/AAAAAAAAATg/EWMVx645PAI/s320/2013-05-25_16-31-48_260.jpg" /></a> <br />
along with a LOT of other inherited items that will make this place great once they are fixed up!! The swing you see in the back is one of my inherited items. I have put one coat of spray paint and will make a post on this all in itself. <br />
Well, I inherited A LOT of paint along with the other things and had a 5 gal bucket of stain <br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zj0nvCBOyKU/UaGGPR44xqI/AAAAAAAAATw/KNBO-2ybk0E/s1600/2013-05-25_17-01-52_148.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zj0nvCBOyKU/UaGGPR44xqI/AAAAAAAAATw/KNBO-2ybk0E/s320/2013-05-25_17-01-52_148.jpg" /></a>. <br />
With the deck being dark <br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yVulsJz2IDs/UaGH5dKx97I/AAAAAAAAAVw/G8EQgSWYvOw/s1600/2013-05-25_17-04-03_631.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yVulsJz2IDs/UaGH5dKx97I/AAAAAAAAAVw/G8EQgSWYvOw/s320/2013-05-25_17-04-03_631.jpg" /></a> <br />
I knew it wouldn't have much time left if I didn't protect it so that is the stain it will be, or so I thought... By the way, have you ever read the Danger warning on a can of this stuff??? <br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_uVKD35W_ao/UaGGbRCB3EI/AAAAAAAAAUA/ewjV-JKnVH0/s1600/2013-05-25_17-03-30_758.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_uVKD35W_ao/UaGGbRCB3EI/AAAAAAAAAUA/ewjV-JKnVH0/s320/2013-05-25_17-03-30_758.jpg" /></a> <br />
Yes, it does say "Rags, steel wool or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded." then goes on to say "Immediately after use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed, water-filled metal container." Do you ever do that??? I know I never knew to so therefor never have... hmmmmm. <br />
Anyway back to the deck... This is what I saw when I opened the can <br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6bHFgmXM9KQ/UaGG4KHiAJI/AAAAAAAAAUg/RJyGZpiEl5E/s1600/2013-05-25_17-08-14_554.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6bHFgmXM9KQ/UaGG4KHiAJI/AAAAAAAAAUg/RJyGZpiEl5E/s320/2013-05-25_17-08-14_554.jpg" /></a> <br />
so nope, this will not be what I use on the deck... I had a gallon of floor paint that was also left to me <br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--XpKdoxwwVE/UaGG9kOpazI/AAAAAAAAAUo/iLBOmvmZIvE/s1600/2013-05-25_17-36-29_711.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--XpKdoxwwVE/UaGG9kOpazI/AAAAAAAAAUo/iLBOmvmZIvE/s320/2013-05-25_17-36-29_711.jpg" /></a> <br />
but this is a color I really do not care for and doesn't fit in with my colorful deck off of the magazine (also is currently on my front porch and back stoop, that I am going to change.) Then I remembered having almost half a gallon of a stain in my craft room that I purchased a couple of years ago at Home Depot marked down to $5.00 <br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FRxXf-VJiR0/UaGHI6A315I/AAAAAAAAAUw/FW_0rb8XLKo/s1600/2013-05-25_17-36-39_466.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FRxXf-VJiR0/UaGHI6A315I/AAAAAAAAAUw/FW_0rb8XLKo/s320/2013-05-25_17-36-39_466.jpg" /></a> <br />
so I am thinking even though it isn't the perfect color it will do. I remember a pin on Pinterest about lining your paint tray to save money and time so I line my tray <br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nSWYRW5uhuk/UaGHME51X5I/AAAAAAAAAU4/kc4Y5965688/s1600/2013-05-25_17-36-50_906.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nSWYRW5uhuk/UaGHME51X5I/AAAAAAAAAU4/kc4Y5965688/s320/2013-05-25_17-36-50_906.jpg" /></a> <br />
and all that did was waste my stain. It still got on the tray and just got in the way (unless I did it wrong, if I did please let me know!!) Soon I saw how much the deck was soaking up the stain and I knew I didn't have enough to do the whole deck. <br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Yz11Tlr5T3Y/UaGHmw3ZWyI/AAAAAAAAAVg/vU-uXAXdjLQ/s1600/2013-05-25_18-02-51_578.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Yz11Tlr5T3Y/UaGHmw3ZWyI/AAAAAAAAAVg/vU-uXAXdjLQ/s320/2013-05-25_18-02-51_578.jpg" /></a> <br />
I had not decided at this time if I was going to make an outdoor rug out of a drop cloth or paint one on, well this decided it for me, I am painting it on!!! lol I left the inside of the deck not stained and then decided I wanted my 'rug' diagonal... But not to worry, once the stain dried it didn't look good since I did not have access to and did not use a power washer first. And I hate, hate, hate, did I mention.... I hate to sand. So I will be painting that area as well. I went through my many inherited paints <br />
<a href="" imageanchor="1" ref="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9_9MnBIek1Y/UaGGZWBPyHI/AAAAAAAAAT4/WOT6lrfmZNI/s1600/2013-05-25_17-01-57_123.jpg"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9_9MnBIek1Y/UaGGZWBPyHI/AAAAAAAAAT4/WOT6lrfmZNI/s320/2013-05-25_17-01-57_123.jpg" /></a> <br />
And this isn't all of them, I have disposed of quite a few and have some in the house. I found this beautiful bright blue <br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qqRMGQgqk5Y/UaGM7dfLogI/AAAAAAAAAV8/15FkChtqIUE/s1600/2013-05-25_19-08-44_179.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qqRMGQgqk5Y/UaGM7dfLogI/AAAAAAAAAV8/15FkChtqIUE/s320/2013-05-25_19-08-44_179.jpg" /></a> <br />
and decided to go with it even though it is an indoor paint. I will either coat it with a sealant or leave it to wear a little to go with the shabby chic look. I LOVE how the blue looks on the deck <br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d9ikYvU4k7Q/UaGNaZr-CjI/AAAAAAAAAWE/hVjRF6PK4is/s1600/2013-05-25_19-38-57_250.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d9ikYvU4k7Q/UaGNaZr-CjI/AAAAAAAAAWE/hVjRF6PK4is/s320/2013-05-25_19-38-57_250.jpg" /></a> <br />
Well it got way to dark, even with putting lights out to do anymore. So I will have to work on it more tomorrow... For now I am wondering exactly what I want to put on my rug... I know I want the bright beautiful colors this spring but I am not sure of the design. Have an idea??? Please give me a link in the comment area below!! <br />
I am a 43 years young divorced female with two young children living at home (son 8 3/4's lol and my daughter 6 1/2), as well as two grown daughters with children of their own (yes, I am a meme). <br />
<br />
Six months after my divorce my teen daughter became pregnant and started going into preterm labor from 21 weeks until she had a wonderful son at 33 weeks. When he was born even though he was in great shape to be seven weeks early he had to stay in NICU until he reached term. Well needless to say I couldn't leave my young scared daughter in the hospital by herself (she pretty much stayed in the hospital until having her son), so I was there with her. All of that time off of work, work wasn't waiting on me when all was done. So there I was with three of my children, two very young at this time, and a grandchild without an income. Savings and 401K only goes so far and I couldn't find a job paying more than $10 an hour for the next three years.... So I thought this must be time to go back to college. My daughter found a wonderful guy and was married a little over a year ago. Fast forward three more years and here I am.<br />
<br />
Since I lost my job I found I had to do things for nothing or almost nothing and that is what this blog is all about. It doesn't matter how much money we have, if we can decorate our homes and throw parties for free or almost this is the time to do it!! <br />
<br />
<br />
I have taken the summer off from school and I am thinking of taking off the next year as well to spend time with my children, they don't stay this age for long. While I have been out I have been busy doing a baby shower for my daughter whom is due with twins the first of July (I do not believe she will make it past the middle of June, we will see) and getting started on some of the many things I wanted to redo, make, and build. When doing my daughters shower I felt like I needed to start a blog giving information I couldn't find in one place so others could. Now that I am working on my yard and my youngest daughters kitchen I still not have been able to find all of the answers I was looking for in one place, So now is the time to share the answers and the problems I have found so the rest of you will not have to hunt and then make the mistakes I did because of not finding the correct answers. I will also let you know how the answers I found turned out... Some things I have found is GREAT advise, some not so good, and others I am wondering if I might have done something wrong... The name of my blog "Be you, Be YoUnique", came from the feeling I have always had about being yourself and true to that person. Please contact me with any questions, if I don't know the answer I will do my best to find them. I'm sure I will need it or someone else will as well!!! Please also make comments on anything that you have a thought about, a correction to, a better way of doing things, etc. along the way!!! <br />
<br />
<br />
And NEVER FORGET!!! Be you!! Be YoUnique!!!<br />
